Meet the Artist
Handmade ceramics for living and display. Tess Jones creates functional pieces meant to be held, used, and enjoyed every day. Each work balances utility, form, and playful experimentation, inviting touch, curiosity, and everyday delight. Rooted in process and repetition, her ceramics turn simple routines into moments of connection, reflection, and quiet wonder.
Process
My process begins with play—testing materials, exploring surface, and allowing curiosity to guide early experimentation. These moments of exploration often reveal visual and conceptual threads that later become central to the work.
From there, I move into a more deliberate phase of planning and problem-solving. Ideas are scaled, repeated, and translated across forms—from small tokens to large sculptural elements—each requiring technical adjustments and thoughtful consideration.
Failure, revision, and testing are integral to this process. Through careful documentation and iteration, intuitive discoveries are refined into repeatable systems that support both functional objects and immersive installations.

Vision
My work is rooted in the belief that play is a powerful mode of understanding. Through ceramics and installation, i create objects and environments that invite participation—encouraging viewers to engage physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
I am interested in how lightness, humor, and sensory engagement can open space for deeper reflection. Whether through functional forms or immersive experiences, my work asks viewers to slow down, interact, and question the assumptions they carry—about objects, about one another, and about the systems we move within.
Rather than offering conclusions, I aim to create entry points. The work becomes a site of exploration, where meaning is formed through interaction and curiosity.
